Changelog

The main features and changes in QR Wait, newest first.

Each date is the day the change was made.

  1. A demo and a clearer website

A demo that runs in the browser, About and Contact pages, this changelog, comparisons with pagers, ticket machines and other queue apps, a glossary, approximate prices in local currencies and search listings for venues that want them.

  2. Branding and the visitor's phone

A logo and colour on every visitor page, a custom domain, printable posters, dark and high-contrast themes, sharing a ticket with companions, one-to-one messages and joining from a website for queues without a location check.

  3. Teams, analytics and integrations

Owners invite managers and attendants, every sign-in can use two-step verification, analytics cover all queues, webhooks and API keys connect a POS or CRM, and visitors rate their visit in one tap.

  4. Services and appointments

Priority services and transfers in counters queues, appointments next to walk-ins, new queues from templates, moving a ticket to another queue and an email to the owner when a queue gets busy.

  5. Kiosk, TV display and visitor self-service

A tablet kiosk that prints numbers, a TV display that reads calls aloud, a join form with rules, an info panel, a message to everyone waiting, "I'm on my way" and "I need more time" on the ticket, and a fair start with a random draw.

  6. Security and speed

Security headers on every page, server-side sessions with sign-out everywhere, daily backups, a proper 404 page and pages that download only their own language.

  7. The blog

Guides to running queues at restaurants, beaches, events and service desks, in all 16 languages.

  8. 16 languages

Twelve more languages, Arabic written right to left among them, joined Turkish, English, German and Russian. Each attendant can also get a link of their own.

  9. Counters, areas and live updates

Counters mode serves one queue from several desks, areas let visitors choose inside or outside, and weekly joining hours close a queue on time. Pages now update live, and the home screen app works for every queue.

  10. Wait estimates and statistics

Visitors see an estimated wait and get a notification when their turn is coming up. Joins can be paused or capped; daily statistics and the use-case pages arrived.

  11. Location check options and arrival time

Each queue checks location at a fixed point, at the attendant's live location or not at all. Called groups can get a time limit to arrive, and the pricing page lists the packs.

  12. Sign-up, free tickets and the QR Wait name

Anyone can open an account with free tickets and buy more as one-time packs. The service took its international name: QR Wait, at qrwait.app.

  13. Status pages, notifications and tables

Every queue got a public status page, visitors get Web Push notifications on their phones, restaurants got a tables mode and businesses accounts of their own.

  14. The first version

A sunbed queue for beaches: visitors scan a QR code at the entrance, wait in the shade and are called when sunbeds free up.
